Get answers to common questions about Stomach Strip.
For best results with a Stomach Strip, hair should be about 1/4 inch (roughly 6 mm). This allows the wax to grip properly. If it's shorter, we may ask you to wait; if longer, we'll trim to the ideal length before waxing.
No — waxing does not cause thicker or darker hair. It removes hair from the root, which often results in finer, sparser regrowth over time. Individual hair patterns vary, but waxing generally softens the feel of regrowth compared to shaving.
Sensitivity varies by person, but a Stomach Strip is usually quick and tolerable. To reduce discomfort, exfoliate a day or two before, avoid caffeine, stay hydrated, and consider a mild over-the-counter pain reliever an hour before if you’re particularly sensitive.
Most clients book Stomach Strip appointments every three to six weeks depending on personal hair growth and desired maintenance. Regular waxing can lengthen the interval between visits as hair becomes finer, so we'll recommend a schedule tailored to your needs.
Waxing is generally considered safe during pregnancy, but increased sensitivity and blood flow can heighten discomfort. Inform your esthetician if pregnant; we recommend avoiding waxing in the first trimester or discussing timing with your healthcare provider if you have concerns.
Avoid hot baths, heavy exercise, pools, and direct sun for 24–48 hours to prevent irritation. Apply a soothing, fragrance-free lotion or aloe, exfoliate gently after 48–72 hours, and wear breathable clothing to keep the area comfortable.
